Baked Malanga Chips
These malanga chips are super easy to make and you can use them as an appetizer or as a side dish for a main dish. The best thing of all is that these chips are baked so they are a much healthier option.
These malanga (taro) chips are super easy to make. They can be used as an appetizer or as a side in a dish. The best part is that these chips are baked which makes them a healthier option.
Ingredients:
- 1 Malanga
- Salt to taste
- Garlic Powder
- Cooking spray
Preparation:
- Preheat oven to 350°F degrees.
- Cut the malangas into thin pieces.
- Submerge them in water to keep their color (if you leave them out of the water they start to turn black).
- Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray.
- Dry the malangas and place them on the tray.
- You can season them with salt, garlic or your favorite combination. In my case, I made a mixture of Kosher Salt and garlic powder.
- Spray a little cooking spray on top.
- Bake for 30 minutes.
- To make them nicely toasted and crunchy, broil them for 2 to 3 minutes.
Enjoyment!
