Malanga Chips al Horno

Baked Malanga Chips

These malanga chips are super easy to make and you can use them as an appetizer or as a side dish for a main dish. The best thing of all is that these chips are baked so they are a much healthier option.

These malanga (taro) chips are super easy to make. They can be used as an appetizer or as a side in a dish. The best part is that these chips are baked which makes them a healthier option.

Ingredients:

  • 1 Malanga
  • Salt to taste
  • Garlic Powder
  • Cooking spray

    Preparation:

    1. Preheat oven to 350°F degrees.
    2. Cut the malangas into thin pieces.
    3. Submerge them in water to keep their color (if you leave them out of the water they start to turn black).
    4. Cover a baking sheet with aluminum foil and spray with cooking spray.
    5. Dry the malangas and place them on the tray.
    6. You can season them with salt, garlic or your favorite combination. In my case, I made a mixture of Kosher Salt and garlic powder.
    7. Spray a little cooking spray on top.
    8. Bake for 30 minutes.
    9. To make them nicely toasted and crunchy, broil them for 2 to 3 minutes.

      Enjoyment!
